DESIGNER AND FOUNDER
LIKE A BOY…
– create like a man
When we asked Thibaut what he was still doing like a boy, he answered without hesitation: “Dreaming”!
The “dream” of this engineer who began his career on oil rigs before choosing the car industry has now come true: Designer, commonly known as Monsieur Kacha – the artist name he was given when he was 4. We now give him the floor!
10 QUESTIONS TO KNOW MORE ABOUT OUR MAN WITH A PROJECT
*translated from the original French version by Abbie & Rose
Tell us, what is your favourite emoji?
How would you describe yourself in a few words?
I am an active man, passionate about project creation and realisation. I also love letting my mind wander and daydreaming. This is how I find the inspiration I try to express in the concrete world.
Well… tell us how your close friends would describe you in a few words?
Smart, big-hearted, a loyal friend, a considerate husband, an ideal dad and above all modest!
Tell us more about your project… How did you get there?
I’ve always loved creating, making. I’ve been loving nice things, and especially design, for a good ten years. Building prototypes after prototypes, I started to believe people could like them.
Do you have a fun story to tell us about your project?
My designs were being displayed at the Viving Fair in Lille [France] when I was asked to come in quickly because of an issue with my display. What started like a terrible day ended up with me meeting and being greeted by Stephane Thebaut, presenter of “La Maison France 5” [famous French TV show]… Well, everyone has his own definition of fun :p
So, don’t lie – you can’t work all the time. What do you do to take your mind off work?
I play with my son! I have been a dad for 9 months and I take the chance to do so when I am not busy with not-for-profit board of directors meetings, playing snooker or boxing.
Who did you want to be when you were young?
I wanted to be an engineer and create the flying car.
And… Did it work out?
But what is your secret?
My wife! She’s the one who pushed me into this adventure and to do what I really wanted to.
Do you have any other dream?
I really want Monsieur Kacha to become a recognised brand in the world of design.
And now, what do you need to reach the very top?
I am working step by step. The next step will be to maximize my distribution network.
Finally, what advice would you have liked to give yourself from ten years ago?
I would rather give it to myself from 20 years ago! The most important thing to be happy is to find out who you are to be able to do what you like, not what you think people want you to do.
